How Brody Transformed His Life (and Paid for Coaching)…So Far

Introduction:
When Brody started coaching in October, he was in a tough spot. Running a business and raising a family left little time or energy to focus on health. He relied on energy drinks and fasting until dinner, which led to calorie binges and inconsistent energy. On top of that, alcohol was a constant part of his routine.

Fast forward three months, and Brody has completely transformed. Not only has he improved his health, but the financial savings from his new habits are enough to pay for his coaching.

Brody’s Results:

  • Lost 25 pounds and 4.75 inches from his waist

  • Cut energy drinks, eliminating 500 daily calories and caffeine crashes

  • Quit alcohol, saving over 20,000 calories and $300 per month

  • Learned macro dieting, moving from fasting and one massive meal to spreading meals throughout the day

By changing his habits, Brody saved time, money, and energy:

  • Time Saved: 15-20 hours per month previously lost to hangovers

  • Money Saved: $300 monthly from eliminating alcohol

  • Energy Gained: Stable energy levels without the spikes and crashes from caffeine and alcohol

How He Did It:
When we started, I knew Brody’s goals needed to be realistic. I didn’t suggest cutting energy drinks and alcohol immediately—instead, we set a goal to reduce alcohol to 60-100 beers monthly. That way, any progress would feel like a win.

But Brody exceeded every expectation. By the end of the first month, he had eliminated alcohol entirely. His energy drink consumption dropped, and he started relying on black coffee and whole foods instead.

One of the biggest shifts was how he approached food. Brody learned the principles of macro dieting and transitioned from skipping meals to eating multiple balanced meals throughout the day. This not only helped him lose weight but also stabilized his energy levels, allowing him to tackle his busy life without crashing.

My Commentary:
When Brody asked me if he should quit energy drinks and alcohol cold turkey, I advised against it. The research is clear: gradual change is more effective and sustainable. But Brody, like so many determined people, set his mind to it and achieved more than we initially planned.

As someone who’s personally faced substance habits, I know how difficult it is to make these changes. That’s why I’m so proud of Brody. He’s proof that when you align your body and mind, you’re unstoppable.

The financial savings alone—enough to pay for his coaching fees—are a bonus. What matters most is that Brody has gained true health and balance.

The Takeaway:
Brody’s story shows the power of starting small and focusing on achievable goals. Whether you’re cutting back on alcohol, improving your nutrition, or adding fitness to your routine, progress happens one step at a time.
