Comparison Fair Play

By: Michael Beiter

One of my clients got the leanest he's ever been working with me three years ago.

He stopped right when Covid got crazy, then resumed in November 2022.

He's having difficulty accepting that his progress the second time around will not be the same as it was two years prior.

After listening to his frustrations, I asked, "Is it fair for you to compare yourself to two years ago when you were younger and had three times fewer children?"

"I never thought of it like that. You're right, thank you for the perspective," he replied.

We all tend to compare ourselves to our all-time bests without considering how we have changed in other ways.

That shit isn't fair; try to stop it.
